God Is A Consuming Fire

==================

To All,

How is the LORD thy God described in the Bible? The LORD thy God is a consuming fire.

Deut.4

[24] For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

Heb.12

[29] For our God is a consuming fire.

Let us go to the Gospel of John for a moment:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God." (John 1:1,2). Our God who is a consuming fire was the Word in the infinite. This infinite Being in all His glory "created all things, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist." (Col. 1:16,17). The universe, the earth, man, all things were created through His Word and by His Spirit.

Pss.104

[30] Thou sendest forth Thy spirit, they are created: and Thou renewest the face of the earth.

Let us look at this verse:

2Chr.2

[6] But who is able to build Him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him?

As you can see by this verse anything that was created can not contain God, the Father. But, the Word is contained in every living thing that was created. God, the Father is infinite, the Word is finite. Thus, we have that which is created as being the seen and the unseen. The unseen is that which is spirit. And an example of that would be angels. Angels are messengers of God. They are always present and can be seen IF the LORD God opens our eyes to see the invisible. (2 Kings 6:17).

Pss.104

[4] Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

A place that is also unseen is "paradise". Paul writes, "And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter." (2 Corinthians 12:2,3). Paul was in his spirit being, with all his senses present. You would not know you were out of the body unless you saw that this was true. People with near death experiences do see their body.

Paradise is the spirit body of the earth. And in the beginning God made a place called the Garden of Eden. It was a spirit place for the spiritual man Adam, as well as, a physical place for the earthly man Adam. The Garden of Eden was planted here on this earth, from seed taken from a place called Paradise. And Adam could not enter this Garden until the breath of life entered him.

"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there He put the man whom He had formed." (Gen. 2:7,8).

When the Word of God is in you and you are spirit filled with His breath of life, then one must be obedient to That Word. The spirit of God renews the heart allowing the Word to reside in this now holy place.

God is infinite and the Word finite, Who is called the LORD God, in the present. That is why in Genesis it does not mention the LORD God until all is created. When the Word created all things with His Spirit, the LORD God could now enter His creation and form man from the dust of the ground. The LORD God can be heard, because we have Adam having a conversation with Him in Genesis 3. Man, who dies remembers nothing, the senses are in a spiritual body and within that spiritual body is the spirit that returns to the Father. What does that mean? Let us go to time of the crucifixion of Christ. What does He say to the thief on the cross?

Luke.23

[43] And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

The bodies on their crosses that day, went into tombs. Their senses with their spirit body went to paradise. Then, there is the spirit, the heart of man, that returns to God. Let us look at the following verse:

Qoh.12

[7] Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Let us look at what David says:

Pss.51

[10] Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

[11] Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

[12] Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

We know that this "spirit" is the spirit that raises one from the dead. Christ as an example being the "firstfruit" of the resurrection.

1Cor.15

[20] But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

[23] But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at His coming.

It appears that man naturally follows in Adam's footsteps meaning one who isdisobedient. It was necessary for the Word, Who created Adam, to be made "flesh" in order to redeem mankind.

John.1

[14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us

And just like Adam was placed in the Garden of Eden... now man is placed in Christ. Man will not get to the Father any other way except through Christ. Christ is like the Garden of Eden, where God is. Christ says:

John.6

[46] Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

John.14

[9] Jesus saith ...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father;...

So, in time, the God we know is the Word made flesh, Who is called the Son of God. Outside of time the Word was with God and was God. In time, Christ Jesus is the Lord God. And since He ascended to His Father and our Father, the Holy Spirit is now with us. The Holy Spirit (Gen 1), moved over the darkness of a fallen earth bringing renewal... turning darkness into light by the Word of God. By God's command the Spirit moves. By God's command the Word and the Spirit created all things. Christ is the Word of God, Who is called the Son of God. And the only way, we can return to the Father... is through His Word {the gospel preached by Paul}.

Where God is outside of time there is nothing else there except God. Anything can come forth from God through His Word by the Holy Spirit. We can not ascend to the Father. We who are gathered or resurrected go directly back to where we came from, the Word... And the Word returns to the Father (not void).

Isa.55

[11] So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

For no unholy thing can stand in His presence. How we went forth is how we return. But some have fallen on the way side. And what about these? They remain in darkness and their hell is their separation from God. The Word separates them. IF the Word is not found in them... they remain in darkness.

And there is one who is chief over them, who remains in darkness and that is Satan. Satan is spirit, a created cherub. He is one who speaks NOT the truth. And is one who will twist the Word of God keeping man from knowing the Father, through the Son, by the Holy Spirit. How did one get such power? God gave it to him.

Satan fell from heaven, which is in time. We read in Isaiah "For thou hast said in thine heart, ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of GOD" (Isaiah 14:13). Above the stars is timelessness... who can go there? Not one who is unholy EVEN if they are spirit. Let us look at this verse for a moment:

Ezekiel.28

[13,14] Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering".... Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so" ...

What are these "every precious stone"? Could it be every planet, every star in the universe. Have you looked at the planets... at a distance, they look like small stones. Their colors are like the gem stones, we find on earth. Scripture says: "thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire." (Ezekiel 28:14). We see now out in the universe where stars are born, it looks like mountains. Could this universe be God's holy mountain? And when Satan walked up and down in the midst of the stones... could this be the stars and planets.

Right now we have the sun as the center of our galaxy... but a time will come when there will be no sun, nor moon for the saints (Revelation 21:23). Where is paradise? It is where God is the Light. How far away is that? For Satan it was not far at all. Paul was taken to paradise and surely it was less than a day journey. :-} But when we look out into the universe, we could not even travel to the end, in some man-made rocket. The power of man can take you out into the universe and never find God. The power of the Word will bring you before God in a blinking of an eye.

God Bless,

Eve
